The restoration
of a gaff rigged cutter built 1895 |
|
|
|
Designed by Logan in Auckland she was launched
in 1895 with a gaff yawl rig. |
|
The small 'jigger' mast was soon removed and a
larger main converted her into the cutter rig she is now famous
for in the many pictures taken during the first half of the 20th
Century. After several years of storage in a warehouse she was
purchased in 2001 by Peter Brookes of 'Brookes Classic Boats',
and transported to Kumeu. In 2003 she was moved to Peter's new
premises at Waimauku where she now awaits a buyer and hopefully
her restoration. |
